Kathy,

Where do I start. Well you must dive with Aldora. They are great. We stayed at a Bed And Breakfast on Calle 4, about a 5 min walk to the square, and not to far for me stagger home from c and C's at 3 am. I'm getting to old for all this partying, but I love it. It was a 15 peso ride to the Marina and took about 5 mins to get there.

Our first dive was at Columbia Deep at 123 ft for 51 mins. There on our first day we saw a spotted eagle ray. We went through to some great swim throughs, one of which is called "Dave's Throat" (named as you would expect after Dave Dillehay of Aldora). The afternoon dive was at Columbia shallows at 30 ft for 1hour 23 mins. I started to get a bit chilly. The coral and marine live were wonderfull.

We did a twilight double header with the boat leaving at about 3.00 pm. We did Santa Rosa wall. 90ft for 65mins. Again the swim throughs were great. The night dive was at Los Tomentos.79ft for 61mins. Here we saw a turtle and Dave Reeves chased it and tried to turn it around towards us. I'm sure you will here a better description from Dave later on. I have never seen such large crabs and lobster before in my life. They were terrific.

I'll tell you about the other dives later.

Kathy, it was you who put me on to Cozumel and for that I am truly thankfull. The guys I dove with must surely now be life long buddies and I look forward to meeting them again and yourself some time in the not to distant future.

If you keep up with all the new threads you will no doubt here all kinds of stories about me. Regretably, they are all probably true.

Hey Maccareena

Regards

Eric

>> Any way tell me some good Coz dive stuff. How were the conditions, what did you see. How many dives did you get in, how about night dives. <<

I've been busy since returning and haven't had time for a report, but conditions below and above water were great. Temp was 80 below and about the same above. Viz was excellent and once approached 200 feet. Lots of sun and one brief shower. Blessedly, the weekend was cruise ship-free, though a flock of the behemoths arrived later.

Saw turtles, crabs, lobster, octopi, rays (including a huge eagle ray from about three feet away.) Add in the ubiquitous groupers and a lot of spotted morays.

With varying skill levels we didn't do too much gonzo stuff, aside from exploring a new swimthrough at Columbia Deep. Exit the wall at about 130. It's called "Dave's Throat" after you-know-who, which led to bad jokes later that night.

Aldora was FULL. Dave ran four morning boats and a twi-night double header. We got in two dives/day, plus a few night dives. I did Columbia Deep twice, Columbia Shallows, Tunich, Tormentos, Yucab twice and a couple more.

The crowd was great but more about that later.
